Publisher’s Statement on Artificial Intelligence
Les Éditions du Rasoir recognizes that the use of artificial intelligence in publishing raises legitimate questions about authorship, translation, transparency, and intellectual responsibility.
Where AI has played a substantial role in the development of a publication, we believe that role should be disclosed clearly and in a manner appropriate to the work. Responsibility for editorial decisions and published content remains human.
For translated works, disclosure should distinguish the role of AI, where applicable, from the human translation, revision, editorial, and quality-control processes involved in producing the final text. Because these processes may differ from one publication to another, the nature of AI involvement should be described according to the circumstances of the individual work.
Disclosure is not intended to tell readers what significance they should attach to the use of AI. Its purpose is to provide information from which they may reach their own conclusions.
Les Éditions du Rasoir applies this principle to its own publications.
